We really don’t know what exactly Giovanni Guidetti told his players in that pause, but it changed everything. VakifBank – Fenerbahce 3-2 (20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 15-12) and the Cup trophy stays with Vakif!
Tie-break was just a cherry on a cake in this spectacular match. Guidetti’s squad started with 5-3 lead, then it grew to 8-4, but Fener reduced to 9-8. Vakif called a time out, and then again increased the lead to 13-10.
It was not over yet, as Fenerbahce came close again on 13-12… But that was the last stand of Yellow Angels. Vakif finished the job with two consecutive points.
In the winning side Gozde scored 25 points, while Brakočević added 17. On the other side Kim Yeon-Koung made 25 points, Havlickova stopped at 18.
