POL M: Defending champions remain unbeaten even after 12 games – Espadon unable to finish off Zaksa

Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle remained leaders in the rankings of the Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship – PlusLiga after beating Espadon Szczecin in five sets in Round 11.

Zaksa were on the verge to suffer their first defeat in PlusLiga this season after making an 11-game run. Espadon pushed defending champions to the limits in Round 11 encounter but could not do more than taking a point from the rivals in front of 3.500 own fans. The Belgian Sam Deroo scored 29 points from the winning side, including 3 aces and 3 kill blocks. Bartłomiej Kluth notched 24 points for Espadon.

In a derby from the bottom of the rankings, BBTS Bielsko-Biała won the tie-breaker against the last placed Dafi Społem Kielce thanks to 22 points from Piotr Łukasik.
