In a thrilling start to the 8th Round of the SuperLega Credem Banca, Modena and Perugia emerged victorious in their respective matches. In Taranto, Valsa Group Modena overcame Gioiella Prisma Taranto in a dramatic tie-break, clinching a 3-2 victory (22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 17-25, 13-15). Maksim Sapozhkov led Modena with an impressive 25 points, while Lanza contributed 16 points for Taranto. Despite the tight contest, Modena’s resilience in the tie-break secured them the win.
In the second match, Sir Susa Vim Perugia defeated Cisterna Volley 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23). Simone Giannelli, the setter for Perugia, was MVP of the match. Ben Tara and Plotnytskyi each scored 17 points, also playing a pivotal role in Perugia’s success. Cisterna’s Faure led his team with 19 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Perugia’s dominance.
