The Italian, European, and world champions Lube published on their website that they are through to the semifinals of the 2020 Champions League.

“The Champions League match between Cucine Lube Civitanova and Knack Roeselare, scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, at 20.30 at the Eurosoles Forum, won’t be played. The Belgian team has in fact requested the CEV the possibility of not making the trip to Italy, canceling of the rematch (in order not to risk any problems on returning to Belgium related to the coronavirus epidemic) and to assign the direct progression to De Giorgi’s wards based on the result of the first leg (3-0 for Lube). The CEV mediated the proposal itself, granting the possibility of canceling the match but only upon acceptance of Cucine Lube Civitanova,“ Lube posted and added that they accepted the proposal to cancel the match “for the common good and not to create problems“ although they were ready to play the match behind the closed doors.

In the semifinals, Lube will face the winners of the face-off between Poland’s Jastrzębski Węgiel and Italy’s Itas Trentino, who will play two matches in two days on neutral ground.
