POL M: Malinowski pushes Aluron to historic win vs Skra, Wlazły makes notable debut for Trefl

Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie achieved a historic result in Round 2 of the 2020/21 Polish men’s volleyball Championship.


Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie beat PGE Skra Bełchatów for the first time in the club history. They downed the most titled PlusLiga club in four sets, on the road, in Round 2 of the 2020/21 regular season. All sets were finished with a two-point winning advantage. Partially, it was 25-27, 26-24, 26-24, and 25-23.

Skra were unable to cope with the huge display of Mateusz Malinowski, who poured in 30 points. Serbian Dušan Petković scored 23 points for the losing side.

Polish volleyball icon Mariusz Wlazły made a notable debut for Trefl Gdańsk, tallying 16 points (5 blocks;  69 % attack) in a straight-set win of his team over Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom. Bartłomiej Lipiński served 4 aces. Dawid Konarski scored 12 points for Czarni. Dawid Dryja served 5 aces.
