“Replay” of the last season’s final was simply fantastic. Lube and Perugia played an exciting game with lot of turnarounds, and it was Lube who won the match at the end.

Every single set was tremendous, but the endings of the third and the fourth were just special. In the third set Lube had 24-21 lead, however Perugia tied the score at 24-24 and had a counterattack! But, Michele Baranowicz made an excellent block (25-24), and then Dragan Stanković made one more for 26-24 and 2-1 for Treia side.

Perugia tried to take this game into the tie-break and was close to do that, as away squad was two points in front in the finish of the fourth set – 20-18. But, Lube tied the score at 21:21, then took the lead at 23:22, and eventually won the match at 27:25, after Buti’s spike went into out.

A true hero of the winning side was Giulio Sabbi who made 24 points, while Simone Parodi added 13. In Perugia, Gabriele Maruotti scored 16, while Aleksandar Atanasijević made 15 points.

It is also worth mentioning that Perugia was again without injured De Cecco and Sunder
