The second-seed Lube literally returned from the dead in Game 2 0f the 2017/18 SuperLega playoff finals against No.1 Perugia.
Lorenzo Bernardi’s side silenced the crowd in Eurosole Forum by clinching the first two sets by a 25-22, 26-24. The Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov needed a support and he gained it in Serbian Dragan Stanković and Jiří Kovář, who replaced Davide Candellaro and American Taylor Sander in the third set and made a significant contribution in a comeback – 25-17, 25-23, 15-11.
Sokolov topped Lube with 24 points, while Stanković added 4 kill blocks, In Perugia, the Serbian Aleksandar Atanasijević tallied 25 points, including 7 aces!
The series moves to Perugia’s home court PalaEvangelisti. Game 3 is scheduled for April 28.
