Last weekend, PGE Skra Bełchatów beat Asseco Resovia Rzeszów by a 3-2 in the classic of the Polish men’s volleyball, valid for Round 19 of PlusLiga. But, the game of fierce rivals had its aftermath as Skra coach Roberto Piazza revealed he was angry with Resovia, and especially with their coach Andrzej Kowal.

„I have a grudge against the hosts, who behaved childishly before the match. Please, imagine that on Saturday we had training only at 19:30, and before that, there was no one in the gymnasium. It looks like the hosts wanted to disturb us and make it difficult for us to prepare for the match. Therefore, the greater is my satisfaction after the victory. Let me remind you that, according to international regulations, the training of the visiting team the day before the match should take place at the latest one and a half hours after the start of the match. This requirement was not fulfilled by Rzeszów. In Bełchatów, Resovia had training at 20:00, but the Polish Cup match took place at 18:00. However, we were offered to hold training at 19:30 in a situation when the match was played at 14:45. I leave this topic for the evaluation of others,“ Piazza did not hide his bitterness. He goes even deeper into the topic as he believes Resovia deliberately did this.

“It was an individual decision of the coach Andrzej Kowal. I have nothing against him, but I think I did not deserve such behavior on his part. From what I know, the president of our club sent a message to the president of Resovia but received a negative response. Are these relations two leading clubs in PlusLiga should have?” the Italian expert stated.
