Side Out

Side-Out mixes the worlds of action and volleyball, and the title of the film is taken by the term in the sport. The film follows Monroe Clark as he moves to California to chase his dream in law. Early on in the film, he is introduced to the sport and this kickstarts his passion for volleyball.

The film stars C. Thomas Howell as the main character and also features Peter Horton, Harley Jane Kozak and Courtney Thorne-Smith. It was released in March 1990 and went on to make $450,000 at the box office.

Impact Point

One of the most interesting volleyball films available is Impact Point. While the film features a lot of sport, it is mainly focused on the main character Kelly Reyes being in danger. Following a defeat in a semi-final match, she is interviewed by journalist Holden Gregg.

The two immediately hit it off, but she is later warned that the journalist isn’t who he seems. It is an excellent option for fans of the sport that also want to watch a suspenseful thriller. The film stars Brian Austin Green, Melissa Keller and Kayla Ewell and was released in 2008.

Air Bud: Strikes Back

An excellent option for those looking for a film for the whole family will thoroughly enjoy Air Bud: Strikes Back. The film was released in 2003 and was the final film in the Air Bud series. It is a lovable story focused on Buddy, and his ability to play volleyball. It is a perfect film for the younger generation that are just getting into the sport, and will be an instant classic in a family household.

The film stars Ketija Pevec, Jake D. Smith and Cynthia Stevenson as the main characters. It was directed by Mike Southon, and is based on the characters by Paul Tamasy and Aaron Mendelsohn.
