Al Ahly SC crushed Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the final of the 2022 African Men’s Club Championship in Kélibia, Tunisia, to claim their 15th continental title, the first after 2019. The Egyptians have indeed confirmed their status as true champions of Africa, imposing their game, thanks to which they didn’t lose a single encounter in the tournament (6-0), in the final against the Tunisian side. Actually, they conceded only one set throughout the event, the one in the title face-off: 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 25-17).

Al-Ahly’s legend, and also a legend of Egyptian volleyball, Ahmed Salah was awarded the MVP in the 2022 African Club Champs. The veteran opposite hitter thus added one more such recognition to his curriculum both on a club and national team level in the country’s, African, and Arabian competitions. By winning the 15th title on the continent, Al-Ahly increased the gap for most crowns in the competition, having a large difference in relation to their closest followers on the ranking list, Tunisia’s Club Sportif Sfaxien, who have 6 titles.
