By stunning titleholders Police in straight sets, partially 25-23, 25-16, 25-23, in Round 16, Al Ahli helped Al Rayyan win the title. It was Police’s third failure in the league.
Two rounds before the end of the tournament, with no playoffs, Al Rayyan have created an unreachable 8-point difference (48-40) in the standings compared to Police, their closest pursuers. In addition, Al Rayyan did not lose a single game so far, having a 16-0 record.
In the last round, on April 7, Al Rayyan will have the chance to put an icing on a cake in a duel with Police.
