The third-placed club in the 2017/18 Superliga regular season, Sesc-RJ, continued to build the roster for the next season and are doing it mostly by making contract extensions.

The 2016 Rio Olympics champion Maurício Borges agreed to spend one more season with Rio de Janeiro side!

A 29-year-old outside hitter (one -time gold medalist in the FIVB World League, FIVB U21 World Championship, Pan American Games, and two-time winner in the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup and South American Championship) will, unfortunately, miss the 2018 FIVB World Championship in September.

In the same time, Sesc renewed with André Aleixo „Japa“, Valdir Gonçalves „Juninho“ and Paulo Victor Silva and signed 20-year-old Marcão who matured in Sesc youth team Sesc São Gonçalo Vôlei.

Earlier, Sesc made several more contract renewals.
