After three years, the outside hitter Felipe Fonteles “Lipe“ is back to Taubaté. A 34-year-old player left SESI-SP and closed a one-year contract with the current Superliga champions to replace the Argentinean Facundo Conte (left to Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei). He will have fierce competition for the Taubaté line-up next season knowing that two starters from the 2018/19 remained in the club – Ricardo Lucarelli and Douglas Souza. Last time he defended the colors of Taubaté, Lipe won the two São Paulo state titles (2014 and 2015) and one in the Brazilian Cup (2015).

Another Rio Olympics champion strengthened Taubaté – Maurício Souza. A 30-year-old middle blocker also returned to the club whose jersey he has worn in the 2014/15 season and won the 2014 Paulista Championship. He came to replace Otávio Pinto who moved to Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei.

Earlier, Taubaté extended with outside hitters Douglas Souza and Ricardo Lucarelli and libero Thales Hoss. They signed Moroccan opposite hitter Mohamed Al Hachdadi (Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia, Italy), setter Eduardo Carísio and libero Rogério Filho “Rogerinho“ (both from Fiat/Minas), outside hitter Renan Bonora (Vôlei Renata), and middle blocker Pétrus Silva (São Francisco Saúde/Vôlei Ribeirão).

Leandro Vissotto and Aboubacar Neto “Abouba“ are close to leaving the club, while these players already left: Argentinean Nicolás Uriarte, Robson Augusto “Robinho“, and Aldren Brand.
