After being extubated for the second time, Renan is now lucid and his condition is evolving, the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) reported.
In a note, the governing body of volleyball in Brazil stated that the country’s men’s national team head coach underwent a tracheostomy (procedure to facilitate the breathing of a patient after an intubated period), is without fever, and in increasing periods without mechanical ventilation after getting Covid-19 and being hospitalized in Rio de Janeiro at the end of April. Then, he had a low level of oxygen saturation, which led to the intubation. Renan also had to undergo vascular surgery due to acute arterial thrombosis. However, unlike in recent weeks, a 60-year-old expert is lucid and interacting with doctors and family.
