At the request of the teams on the court, the referees may review replays of questionable moves in five situations: ball inside or outside the court, invasion of opponent’s court, invasion of attack, block touch the net and the ball touch the antenna or a player.
In an official announcement, CBV did not explain how many times each team may use the electronic resource. In the Club Championship, the teams could use the help of technology twice per set.
“We brought a technology that is already being used successfully in Poland. We’ve also been in Doha, following the Club World Cup, where the same system was used by the FIVB. We believe it is a necessary aid and that it can be very positive if used responsibly” said Renato D ‘Ávila, technical superintendent of CBV.
Before applying the electronic resource in the finals, CBV expects to have a friendly match to test the equipment.
