MVM W: Brazil overcomes China and ensures place in semifinal

The Brazilian team won the second match at the Montreux Volley Masters, held in Montreux, Switzerland. Brazil defeated China 3:0 (25:19, 27:25, 25:23), and secured place in the semifinals of the competition. This and other volleyball news read on Worldofvolley.com.

Brazil will face Russia on Thursday in last match in the group. In case Brazil win the match the first place in the group will be guaranteed.

The best Brazilian players in the game were Daroit and Garay. They had 18 and 16 points respectively. Despite the lost the selection of China had the highest scorer on the match, the opposite Ting Zhu with 19 points.

Brazil leads Group A with two wins in two games, with total of six points. China, with two defeats, has not scored any point. Russia and Switzerland had three points each, and they will meet on Friday.

China made the first point of the match, taking advantage of an Brazil‘s error. Chinese reached the first technical time-out leading by 8:5. The Brazil came back and reached the second technical time with two-point lead (16:14). With good serves by Daroit, Brazil extended the lead, forcing the coach of China to stop the game again at (21:17). Brazil closed set in 25-19.

China opened the secont set. First part of the set was balanced. Brazil arrived with minimal advantage to the first technical time-out (8:7). Garay led Brazil to the second technical time-out after a strong attack in parallel (16:15). The Brazilian managed to open two-point lead with the opposite Monique attacks. China coach stopped the game at (21:19). The Chinese pulled up on the scoreboard and coach Ze Roberto asked the first time-out for Brazilian team at (24:23). With two aces, China turned the game, forcing the Brazilian coach to stop the game again. Brazil closed set with 27:25 thanks to good play by Daroit.

As in previous sets China made the first point in the set. With good play Brazilian led 4 to 1, causing the Chinese coach to stop the game. The best Asian team returned to the game, closed the gap, but Brazil had minimal advantage at the first technical time-out (8:7). With great defenses and attacks green and yellow team kept the difference of one point and reached the second technical time-out (16:15). The Chinese have turned the score, forcing the coach Ze Roberto to stop the game (22:21). After time-out it was Brazil‘s turn to turn the game 23:22. Finaly Brazil closed set with 25:23.
