BRA M: Renan another victim of Taubaté’s financial crisis

The current head coach of the Brazil Men’s Volleyball National Team, Renan Dal Zotto, is another ‘victim’ of EMS Taubaté Funvic.

O Tempo reported that the two-time defending champions of Brazil, Taubaté, owe 50 % of the contract to the country’s national team head coach Renan. This proves that the financial crisis of the São Paulo club of which reports appeared at the beginning of the year only increases, not mitigates. Renan took over the team in February 2019 but to date Taubaté paid only 50 % of the contract, still owing about R$ 350,000 (about EUR 58,700) to the expert. Actually, that is the year when the club has accumulated debts.

The installments proposed to the players were not paid, which led to the departure of all important players at the end of the last season (Bruno, Borges, Douglas, Roque), while Maurício Souza and Lucão are close to leaving as well unless they receive what Taubaté owes them.
