The European women’s volleyball champion in 2015, Kseniya Parubets, will miss the Tokyo Olympics.
One of the key players of the Russia National Team, the 2015 CEV European Championship winner (she made her debut for ‘Zbornaya’ that year), Parubets will not play at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The 26-year-old outside hitter continues to recover from an injury, the Russia Women head coach Sergio Busato told media in the country.
Parubets, a member of Uralochka-NTMK, missed most of the last season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. In spring, she trained with ‘Zbornaya’, but her physical condition did not allow her to play in the recently finished Volleyball Nations League. Busato also said there is a chance that Parubets will be able to play at the EuroVolley in September.
