BRA W: Tifanny sparkles with 38 points as Osasco annul 2-set deficit to beat Brasília

Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde recorded the sixth consecutive win in the 2021/22 Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Championship.

With great performance by Tifanny Abreu of 38 points, Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde beat Brasília Vôlei in Round 9 after a comeback and remained third in the 2021/22 Women’s Superliga. Osasco trailed 0-2 in sets on the road but had Tifanny, who was one point short of the competition’s single-game scoring record which she holds jointly with her teammate Tandara Caixeta (currently suspended for doping in the Tokyo Olympics) at the end of the match. Michelle Pavão made four blocks and Camila Brait 76% reception (21 digs, one error, 29% excellent). As a result, the team from São Paulo reached 21 points (8-1). Brasília, on the other hand, went to 10 points and fell to ninth place in the standings.

Esporte Clube Pinheiros interrupted their own losing streak of three games as they downed Unilife-Maringá in the tie-break and moved up to the eighth position in the charts.
