The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) issued an official announcement regarding difficulties that Poland National Team had at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The CEV confirmed that, on Tuesday, Poland National Team was unable to take off to Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the semifinal match of the 2019 European Men’s Volleyball Championship, as scheduled, due to the suspension of all flight operations by the Slovenian company Adria Airways.

“The CEV and the Polish Volleyball Federation have worked closely together to make sure that the reigning world champions would find an alternative way to fly to Slovenia’s capital. Thanks to the invaluable help offered by the Polish government through the provision of a plane from their own fleet, it was possible to address and solve this unexpected situation,” the governing body of European Volleyball published.

CEV also commend the efforts made by the Dutch Volleyball Federation who provided Polish delegation with a hotel where to stay at Schiphol while all three parties were working on ensuring the best possible solution for a journey to the Slovenian capital.

Given that the strike of Adria Airways will affect charter flights from Ljubljana to Paris on Friday, CEV stressed that the Slovenian Volleyball Federation will make sure that Poland and Slovenia reach the French capital for the bronze medal match and final on time by re-organizing these flights.

Neither CEV nor the Dutch Volleyball Federation did nothing to solve the problem. This is just outrageous that organizing party does not take any kind of responsibility to provide transportation for the team involved in the schedule of matches. All of a sudden KLM planes stopped flying? It had to be Polish government plane to pick up the team with 6h delay? Holland/Slovenia should be banned from organization of anything in the future.

Poles arranged everything without any help. CEV should quit embarassing themselves, own up to their failures and stop taking credit for sth they didn’t do.
PS. Yeah, yeah, thanks for the hotel

Re: @anonymous And Polish Federation should send invoice to the organizer (CEV) to pay. I am sure they will make it
