Bruno Najdič completed his duties last year, after Slovenia finished third in their second-round qualifier and failed to make it to the final stage of the CEV Volleyball European Championship for the second straight edition.
“We were extremely successful with the public tender for the men’s team, and therefore we have decided to follow the same procedure for the women’s team as well. We expect a good response from Slovenian coaches as well as from Volleyball experts from abroad,” explains the OZS Secretary General, Gregor Humerca.
The new head coach will not only be at the helm of the Slovenian women’s national team until 2019, but will also lead the U23 as they contest their respective age-group World Championship on home soil this coming September.
Slovenia will try to qualify for the FIVB World Championship for the first time in their history, when they take on the national teams of Estonia, Finland, France, Portugal and Germany in Pool F in late May.
