Italy secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics men’s volleyball tournament one round before the end of the group stage. The ‘Azzurri’ achieved it by beating Iran today. However, what might spoil the mood within the team is the injury of its pillar Ivan Zaytsev.

The opposite hitter left the court in the third set and from the moment he sat on the bench it was visible he was in a lot of pain which he couldn’t hide it. We can’t say for sure that he cried, but he firmly held the left hand, which was obviously the source of the problem he had.

There is no information on the extent of the injury or whether Zaytsev will be able to play in the last round of the group stage or not.
