The „Marshall case“ has been active practically since the beginning of this season, due to the fact Italian Volleyball Federation (Fipav) did not grant change of sports nationality of an athlete from Cuban to Italian although he owns Italian citizenship for several years already. Fipav claimed that Cuban federation was causing a delay, while Piacenza thought Fipav was the main problem in this case.
Thus, Piacenza filed a lawsuit against the Fipav which will be processed in the summer. In the meantime, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) asked for new documents in regard to “Marshall case” to decide on a possible misconduct of the Cuban Federation. What might go into favor of Piacenza is the fact that Polish and Brazilian federation are also in the game, requesting FIVB to grant change of sports nationality to two Cubans: Polish VF to Cuban Wlifredo León and Brazilian VF to Yoandy Leal.
A final answer of the FIVB in all three cases is expected until the end of April.

Yes, they can decide in mashall’s case, but he will anyway be one or two years older and will stop to play volleyball once they make a final sentence
