by WoV

After the opening game of the men’s volleyball U23 World Championship, Brazil & Mexico and Turkey and China have tested the new scoring system.

Brazil - Mexico

Brazil – Mexico

Brazil have won the game vs. Mexico 4-0 (15-7, 15-8, 15-7, 15-10), while China barely managed to beat Turkey after seven sets (19-17, 12-15, 11-15, 15-8, 15-10, 10-15, 15-10).

Head coach of Brazil completely likes the system:

I like the new system of scoring because it makes the match very fast and more exciting,” says Geovane Gavio.

The Mexicans are not sharing the same opinion:

I didn’t prefer the new scoring system and my team try to deal with it but we couldn’t,” says coach of Mexico, Luis Martell.
