In an exhausting encounter in Nagoya, Iran proved to be more lucid in the tie-break against the Italian National Team after being ahead of the rivals in sets twice, 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 28-26, 29-31, 15-11)

Italy was better than Iran in the service (8-3 in aces), in the blocking (15-8 in kill blocks) and even made nearly double the fewer unforced errors (22-42) but still managed to suffer a defeat since their mistakes always came at the worst possible moment. In general, it was a highly nervous game for both sides as Iran committed 120 errors, while Italy made 112!

Despite being a losing side, Italy had the best scorer of the match, Filippo Lanza, with 23 points. Daniele Mazzone stood out in blocking, having 6 kill blocks. Amir Ghafour notched 21 points for Iran
