The youngsters did not play so well. Will you recall Zhu Ting for the next pool?

No, we need to give more chances to the young players rather than replacing them with experienced players. I still remember what happened at the 2013 Asian Championship, where Yimei Wang played for Zhu Ting and we lost a lot. I think the newcomers like Yingying Li are on the way to being much stronger. I want the media to give them space, don’t blame them too much, nor keep boasting. What they really need is an opportunity to play, to experience and to learn.

Chinese women’s volleyball team has had very great performances, are there any adjustments in training players in the future?

We will focus on winning games, and in the meanwhile, we also focus on training youngsters. Zhu Ting needs rest, so she rests. Zhang Changning is sidelined by injury, so she’s not here either. Then we just give chances to young players. The Chinese women’s volleyball team is not as strong as you guys imagined. I hope you will be as patient as I am with our young players ” explained Lang Ping.
