Tours decided to replace a former Brazil National Team member Renan, who arrived injured to the preparations of the French side and has been unable to train for a month.
The club published that a 30-year-old opposite hitter of a height of 2.17 m, had a foot injury and underwent surgery in his home country, which was followed by complications, including swelling of the foot. In Tours, they said they waited patiently and even believed in an improvement of the player’s condition but, unfortunately, it was in vain.
Given that Renan will have to undergo treatment and be, probably, sidelined for a while, Tours made a decision to terminate the contract with him. The club is now looking for a medical joker and media speculate that Belarusian international Artur Udrys (last season in VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa, Poland) has the biggest chances to replace a one-time Best Opposite Spiker of the Pan American Games and Pan-American Cup.
