After defeat a week ago, the Fabrice Vial players qualified for the championship in a crazy saturday night match. France won match in the tie-break (20:25, 25:23, 25:20, 18:25, 15:8), and then the golden-set (15:11). Best players was Christina Bauer (18 points), Helene Schleck (18 points) and the young Elizabeth Cannetane Fedele (19 points).
“This is huge. We go to the European Championship. Girls really played great this qualification, because it was really hard,” reacted Fabrice Vial. With a majority of players from AF League the Blues will face the host country, Switzerland, as well as Italy and Bulgaria in the European Championship in September.
