FIVB postponed making decision on Markin’s drug abuse, which was not calmly accepted in the French NT. ’Team Yavbou’ would go to Rio Olympics instead of Russia in case FIVB eliminates ’Zbornaya’. So far, Russian NT is safe. The head coach of France, Laurent Tillie, sharply answered to the question was he surprised by the decision of FIVB.
„Yes, it is beyond surprise that there will be no sanctions. My players are disgusted. We lost the final (of European Qualifier) against Russia and it is partly because we did not have the physical resources. So, when we heard that Aleksandr Markin, who played a very important role in this game, was tested positive, it became even more unbearable,“ Tillie stated to „Le Figaro“.
France will have the chance to secure spot at the Olympic Games throughout World Qualifier in Tokyo, Japan (May 28-June 5) and will try to achieve it with these players.

You want to say you lost because of 300 nanograms of meldonium in body of markin, it is just ridiculous. Everybody knows meldonium can’t effect on physical strenghts. If you couldn’t win due to 300 nanograms meldonium in body of markin so i think it’d better that you not go to RIO at all, because confidently you will have many problems about physical resources.
So why does all the Russians take Meldonium if it has no effect??? Russia cheated, the sould pay the bill by staying at home. If FIVB won’t stop them it’s because of the same reason that World League group 1 grew larger after Russia became last last year: FIVB depends on Russia… that is politics and has nothing to do with sport!

M is not about politics its because of the quality of volleyball russia produce if FIVB didnt change his format during world league. the sponsors on russia league is a big effect so reduce of teams and reduce of players and no foreign guest. its a strategy. and they might boycott FIVB. its not about politics its about a promotion of FIVB to the volleyball community.

I think if you you wanna be honest then your question be against yourself, why suddenly one drug put on the banned list, I don’t think experts of WADA haphazardly found out this drug can affect on athletes, this case is very doubtful. It is very simple problem and not much complicated that it seems. He had been using meldonium before it banned, and the manufacturer confirmed that it can remain in body fore couple of months, consequently Markin must avoid any punishment. It doesn’t matter of politics or any other thing. Science can make true judgment and all the tests are show off.

You are absolutely right! Some russian players has been taking it before it was banned… CASE CLOSED… FRENCH PLAYERS! stop whining and focus for the next qualification.

on the contrary of what Russians say, this drug in performance-enhancer, and surely affects on physical performance. it is right that this drug started to be banned on january 1th, but all the players around the world had been warned before that. so all you Russian can keep your mouth shut and stop making excuses for Markin! he should’ve stoped using it, but he didn’t! simply because he didn’t want to!!!
and what about last year world leaue that your team was last and according to the rules should’ve been droped out of first level, ha??? FIVB suddenly changed the world league format just to prevent Russian from falling down!!! what about that??? what’s you excuses about that?!!!
Meldonium can cover tracks of other substances , for example EPO is one of those , it doesn’t matter how low his specific level of enhancement is , those it covers are a lot more effective
