Éric Tanguy, the President of the French Volleyball Federation (FFV), firmly believes that France will get the organization of the 2019 CEV Men’s Volleyball European Championship.
“Getting the 2019 Men’s European Championship is well underway. We are, a priori, the only candidates to co-host with The Netherlands, Belgium and Slovenia: a pool stage would be played in one of these countries while semifinals and the finals would be played in France. The decision will be made by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) during the EuroVolley in Poland, in September. We never did a lot to lobby for this so we will wait until the last moment. But there is no real opponent in the race. Currently, we go around the venues in France. The ideal scenario would be a pool stage in Montpellier or Aix-en-Provence, the eventual 8th Finals and the quarter-finals in Nantes and Paris-Bercy for the semifinals and finals,” Tanguy said.
