David Sossenheimer joined MKS Będzin for the 2019/20 season. This is going to be the first club abroad in the career of a 22-year-old outside hitter, currently competing in the 2019 FIVB Nations League with Germany. Last season, Sossenheimer defended the colors of VfB Friedrichshafen, the runners-up in his home country’s championship.
Earlier, Będzin signed the middle blocker Bartosz Schmidt (MCKiS Jaworzno, Division 2), outside hitter Rafał Sobański (GKS Katowice), and Canadian setter Tyler James Sanders (Halkbank, Turkey). They extended with an outside hitter Jan Fornal, libero Michał Potera, opposite hitter Rafał Faryna.
Będzin will enter the 2019/20 season with the new head coach as Jakub Bednaruk came from Chemik Bydgoszcz, replacing Emil Siewiorek who started the last season as an assistant and took over the team in February instead of the Dutch Gido Vermeulen.
