The three-time CEV Women’s Volleyball Cup winners Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio brought in a talented Cuban player.

The 21-year-old middle blocker Liset Herrera strengthened Italy’s Busto for 2020/21. She’ll be the first Cuban player ever wearing the jersey of the three-time CEV Cup winners and one-time Italian Championship, Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup winners. Herrera, who made her debut for the Cuba National team when she was only 15, came to Busto from the French side Le Cannet.

With this transfer, both players that deserted Cuba National Team in 2017, which was the last known of many such cases in volleyball history of this Caribbean country, found new clubs for the next season in the same week. The second member of this “notorious“ duo will play in Romania in 2020/21.
