The adventure of the U.S. Women’s Volleyball National Team member, Kathryn Plummer, with the Italian titleholders Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley Conegliano will continue.
Plummer is confirmed to be part of the Imoco roster also in 2022/23. In the debut season with ’The Panthers’, the 23-year-old California-born outside hitter stood out as one of the most effective attackers in Serie A. The former Stanford University graduate was the seventh-best spiker on average in the 2021/22 Italian league with a 50.3% attack. Plummer is currently engaged with the US National Team, with which she won the VNL last year, in this year’s edition of the tournament, being the main attacking weapon on her side at the moment.
Plummer will be paired up in the line-up with Alessia Gennari. A 30-year-old player came from Vero Volley Monza, a team that lost the last Serie A championship finals to Imoco. Gennari has been regularly summoned to the Italy National Team actions since 2017, being involved in winning the 2021 CEV EuroVolley. Gennari excels in reception more than in attack (eighth-ranked in perfect receptions per set in the 2021/22 Italian League) and should make a perfect combination with Plummer on the court.
