Ivan Zaytsev was born in Spoleto, a town located in the Umbria region, only 60 km away from the city of Perugia. The famous player started his career in Perugia Volley (Umbria Volley), but he left his home very early and continued his volleyball journey by defending colors of Roma, Latina, Lube and finally of Dinamo Moscow.

But, this summer he is free to search for a new club, while one of the options is to return to his home. To sign for Sir Safety Perugia!

The Italian powerhouse confirmed that they would love to have Ivan Zaytsev on their side in the next season.

“Ivan is a volleyball gentleman, he is Umbrian and Perugia is his home. It would be nice and exciting to have him with us. It would be like the return of a long lost son…” said Gino Sirci, the president of Sir Safety Perugia, for gazzetta.it.

But, if Ivan Zaytsev really joins Perugia, what will than happen with Aleksandar Atanasijević?
