Ivan Miljković confirmed for WorldofVolley that he kindly declined the offer of Lube to become the club's Sports Director, as he still wants to play volleyball.

Recall that Lube Civitanova offered Ivan Miljković to replace Stefano Recine at the position of the Sports Director this summer, but that would also mean that the Serbian superstar would have to finish his volleyball career…

It was a tough call, but volleyball fans from all over the world will definitely be happy with his decision, because…

Ivan Miljković still wants to play volleyball!

This is what he wrote to WorldofVolley:

“As every day is very important for Lube in this period, I have decided to inform club’s management about my final decision even before the agreed deadline (Monday morning). At this moment, I have a desire to keep playing volleyball and my physical condition allows me to continue with my player’s career. I would like to thank Lube for their trust after everything we have made together and I am aware that this kind of offer might never appear again. However, these are the risks that we all take during our careers, for the sake of some other goals.”

“I realize that the club is passing through a very delicate situation in which it is necessary to make some big decisions in the next few days, but my desire to play volleyball is still here. In accordance with my agreement with Lube from the last summer I have one more year of playing in front of me. However, many other questions are now on the table. One of them is my position in the team where I will probably get the role of a reserve opposite and that would be the first time I face such a situation in my life. On the other hand, our mutual agreement from the last summer was to finish my career in Lube… That idea was presented to me a year ago. I hope we will resolve this situation as soon as possible and to our mutual satisfiaction.”
