He will replace Stephane Antiga at the helm of the team.
“I have a strong connection to the men’s team, and I’m looking forward to building on the progress made since 2016 under Stephane’s direction… The next two years are crucial and will require a lot of work, but I have confidence in the staff, including assistant coach Dan Lewis, and the players that we are all focused on the goal of qualification and strong performances on the world stage,” says Hoag.
At the Olympic Games 2016, Glenn finish as a fifth-placed team. Over the past two years, the men’s team finished third 2017 World League and seventh in 2018 Volleyball nations League and ninth in the recent FIVB Men’s World Championship.
“Glenn has successfully worked with the program as a coach since 2006 and resuming duties as head coach will ensure continuity until Tokyo 2020. The next 18 months will be an exciting time for the men’s program,” said Julien Boucher, Volleyball Canada’s indoor high-performance director.
