The Maribor side sealed the title with a straight-sets victory in the third match of the series, winning 25-13, 25-20, 25-22 at Tabor Hall.

It is the 18th national crown for Branik, which finished top of the regular season and confirmed their status as the country’s strongest team in the playoffs.

After needing five sets to win each of the opening two finals matches, Branik produced a more dominant display in the decisive encounter, controlling the first set before holding off Calcit in the closing stages of the next two.

Iza Mlakar led the champions with 22 points in the final match, while Žana Ivana Halužan Sagadin closed both the second and third sets with aces.

Calcit battled throughout the contest but was unable to stop Branik from lifting a second consecutive league title.
