On the 20th anniversary, the Polish men’s volleyball league (Polska Liga Siatkówki), also known as the PlusLiga, organized the voting for fans on its website with a goal to pick the best team of the competition.
The five players competed for each position. Fans were asked to choose two setters, two opposite hitters, two liberos, four outside hitters, and four middle blockers. Moreover, they had to choose the MVP out of those candidates, as well as the best head coach. The most votes for the best player (44 %) were given to Mariusz Wlazły, a long-time player of PGE Skra Bełchatów. Of course, he was also awarded the best opposite hitter (85%) in the last 20 years of the league.
The best setter was Paweł Zagumny, the best libero was Paweł Zatorski, the best middle blocker was Piotr Nowakowski, and the best outside hitter was Michał Winiarski. The 36 % of the fans who took part in the poll have chosen Andrea Anastasi as a head coach for the Dream Team.
