The World Championship opening between Poland and Serbia was held at the football stadium on August 30, 2014 and was seen by about 61,500 spectators which was a record attendance on a volleyball match.

At the request of the prosecutor’s office, the Anticorruption Bureau seized documents and computer data from the Security Bureau and crisis management of Warsaw City Hall as well as from the headquarters of the Fire Department and home of the expert on fire protection systems.

Confiscated documents are associated with fire safety on a stadium, including warning systems, which is necessary for holding mass events like opening match of the World Championship.

The investigation will focus on the possibility of obtaining property benefit in return for the issuance of a positive decision. Simply put – was there a bribary case in obtaining a fire safety permit.
