In Katowice, home team and also PlusLiga newcomers GKS Katowice played an uncommon volleyball match against league rivals Effector Kielce.

Katowice vs. Effector

Katowice and Effector played a sparring game under modified rules.

Firstly, there was no serving at start of each point. Balls were tossed from the court sideline. Secondly, the match was not played to 25 points. Instead, all sets had time limit, each lasted 20 minutes.

Do you wonder who won? Katowice took all three sets.

I don’t like these rules. I think canceling technical time-outs like at the Rio Olympics was a good idea but no serving and time-limited sets is changing the game too much for me, I’d rather they reduced the number of points you have to reach to win a set.
