The Polish Volleyball Federation decided not to extend collaboration with head coach of the Men’s National Team, Stéphane Antiga.

The current contract of Antiga with Polish VF expires at the end of 2016. At the same time the Management Board thanked him for nearly three years of work with the coaching staff but concluded that the national team needs a new impulse in front of the new challenges with which Polish volleyball players face.

French expert led Polish NT to the historic gold at the 2014 FIVB World Championship and bronze medal at the 2015 FIVB World Cup.

On Tuesday, October 11, Polish Volleyball Federation will begin the procedure for selecting a new head coach.

It’s a shame, that it ended that way, I really would like him to stay as a head coach of Poland, but on the other hand last two years were dissapointing, to say the least. I wonder if he is going to stay in Poland, and will take over some club in PlusLiga, or will he try his luck somewhere else. Either way, I wish him good luck.

The coach is one part of the equation but the players are another. Half of those who reached for World Championship are no longer on the team, so…
I wish him good luck in the future!
