Matt Anderson signed the new deal with Zenit Kazan, a few days ago, but as in most cases in volleyball, the contract value was not announced.

The volleyball is not a sports discipline in which contract values are easily accessible to the public. So, in most cases, the insider information from agents is necessary to see the numbers.

Although they did not mention the exact sum of money in the new deal that Matt Anderson penned with Zenit Kazan from Russia, Volleywood revealed that the U.S. outside hitter and his teammate Wilfredo León are, unofficially, the two highest paid professional volleyball players in the world.

This means that Anderson will earn nearly 1.4 million dollars next season! And again, it is not the official info, only a rumor.

Re: @John
In sports like football are they talking all the time about the value of the contracts of players and is that news always widely spread. It can be helpfull for people to create an image of the size of the capital of these clubs.

To me it’s pretty strange then that this kind of information is rarely published in volleyball.

Re: @synlerak if it’s possibly fake why publish it? Rumor suggested no source. Volleywood is not even credible.

It has to be published. Why somebody had to be ashamed about his contract? In any other sport newspapers and blogs write about players’ contracts

This is great news even if is just a bit off. These guys should be getting that and it only helps drive the market for premier players in other leagues. Many are underpaid imo.

The question is: why only volleyball does’n’t want say clearly how much earn players and everyone who work in this sport? What’s the matter? Think about this… Volleyball is’nt a big sport? Yes. And we no why…
