After coach Zoran Terzic announced the list of the players for the first National competition this year, we saw that Suzana Ćebić is not on the list. So we decided to call her.

You are not on the list, have you decided to finish career or?

For 10 beautiful years I was in the National team and I think it’s time to retire. In this way I want to allow young players to take their places in the team.”

What will you remember?

Uhhh, I will remember everything because there were many good things. I had the opportunity to work with great people, to participate in all major competitions and won medals on them. This is valuable experience for me.”

In her career she won many medals and awards, the last one was silver at the Olympics in Brazil.

I must say that my favorite medal is from the World Championships 2006, because that was my season as a rookie, and of course, gold medal from the European Championship in Belgrade 2011.”

In 2006 in Japan, Serbia won the first medal at the World Championship and you were the best libero?

I will remember 2006 in every sense; the first big competition, the first medal. Ideal for someone who’s just appeared on the international stage. Award for the Best Libero was something totally unexpected, even today when I think about it, because at that time I had 22 years.”

Does this mean that you finish with volleyball in general?

For now only with the National team. I will continue to play at the club level.

O.K. But tell us, where will you go on the summer holiday?

This is what I like the most. For the first time after 17 years I’ll have a whole summer available. Since I’m always active, this will be my vacation. It will be a lot of traveling” said Ćebić at the end of the interview.
