VakıfBank clinched the Turkish AXA Insurance Cup championship title after they triumphed over Fenerbahçe Opet in the final with a score of 3-0. In the preceding semifinals, VakıfBank scored a comfortable win against Aydin and advanced to the final, where they faced off against Fenerbahce Istanbul, who had beaten THY in a grueling 5-set match in their semifinals.
Paola Egonu, who scored 25 points (51% in attack, 1 ace), was the top scorer of the match, while Gabi contributed with 15 points (60% in attack).
