Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza clinched a resounding victory over Allianz Milano in less than 90 minutes of play, winning Game 1 of the best-of-five Credem Banca 3rd/4th Place series. The white and red team took a crucial first step towards qualifying for the next season’s Champions League, expertly outplaying Milano right from the start. They showed dominance in the first two sets, with Romanò’s excellent attack stats (88% and 60%) backed up by effective serve and block performance. Although Milano responded to Piacenza’s burning start in the third set (5-0) and drew level at 21 by capitalizing on their errors, Piacenza composed themselves and clinched a 4-1 partial, including two consecutive blocks, to win the first game. Simon impressed with a 71% attack rate and five successful blocks (11 points), Caneschi with a 71% attack rate (7 points), and Lucarelli with a attack rate of 73% (13 points).
