TUR M: Ziraat one win away from making perfect record in 1st stage of Regular Season, Ojansivu helps Afyon shock Fenerbahçe

Ziraat are only one win away from completing the first stage of the Efeler Ligi with a perfect record after winning their 10th game in as many rounds. They need only one more victory to make a sweep of all rivals in Turkey in the first part of the regular season. But, Ziraat will have to add that victory over defending champions Halkbank, in one week from now. So, embrace yourselves for a huge Round 11 derby!

Let’s get back to Round 10 in which Ziraat were on the verge to suffer their first defeat as they trailed 2-1 in sets against İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor Kulübü. But, thanks to 28 points (3 aces, 2 kill blocks) from their star player this season Dawid Konarski from Poland and 17 points (4 kill blocks) from the Montenegrin Vojin Ćaćić, Ziraat outplayed rivals, for whom Baturalp Burak Güngör made 25 points, in the tie-break.

As for the above-mention Halkbank, they got themselves a convincing win over Maliye Piyango, with 17 points from the Brazilian Lucas Lóh.

Afyon Belediye Yüntaş shocked Fenerbahçe with a 3-1 victory thanks to 23 points from the Finnish international Olli-Pekka Ojansivu.

Arkas Spor downed TKD Enerji Gümüşhane Torul Gençlik on the road in straight sets. Adis Lagumdžija and Yiğit Gülmezoğlu poured down 13 points apiece for Arkas who are still No.2 in the rankings, having 8-2 and 24 points in front of Halkbank who have the same record but one point less on their account.
