POL M: Giampaolo Medei to Lead Asseco Resovia for the 2023/2024 Season

Asseco Resovia, one of the most successful volleyball clubs in Poland, announced that Giampaolo Medei has extended his contract with the team for the 2023/2024 season. The decision was made after the team’s excellent performance under his leadership during the current season, where they are currently in first place in the regular season.

Medei has an impressive record of accomplishments, having won the CEV Cup with French team Tours VB in the 2016/2017 season, and five silver medals with Cucine Lube Civitanova in the Club World Championships, Champions League, Italian Championships, Cup, and Super Cup in the 2017/2018 season. He also led Ziraat Bankası Ankara to their first national championship title in Turkey.

President of Asseco Resovia, Piotr Maciąg, expressed his satisfaction with the contract extension, stating that the team is performing very well under the coach’s guidance. He believes that the team will bring many joyful moments to Asseco Resovia fans in the final stage of the current season.

Giampaolo Medei, for his part, expressed his happiness at staying in Rzeszów for another season. He thanked the president for trusting him and his way of working, and stated that he has everything he needs to work at Asseco Resovia, including a great staff, players, club management, and fans. He also expressed his ambition to continue building a very good team and playing for the highest goals in Poland and Europe.
