Fakel Novy Urengoy decided to end collaboration with head coach Roman Yakovlev. Yakovlev, who joined the coaching staff in February 2018, served as an assistant to Camillo Placi and Mikhail Nikolaev before assuming the role of head coach in February 2022.
Under Yakovlev’s guidance, Fakel Novy Urengoy experienced a mixed performance in recent seasons. They secured a commendable 7th position in the last season, following their 10th place finish the previous year.
Fakel appointed Roman Empolov as their new head coach.
