Dante Boninfante, assisted by Samuele Papi, took over the Greece Men’s National Team. The Greek federation (EOPE) announced the beginning of the cooperation for two years with the duo of Italian coaches and former long-time members of ‘Azzurri’. A 45-year-old Boninfante will be the head coach, while 3 years older and also a bigger playing star Papi will be his direct collaborator, which is, at the moment, the same chain of command between these two on a club level too. Namely, Boninfante-Papi command Italian 3rd division side Tinet Prata di Pordenone.

Boninfante sailed into coaching waters not so long ago. After having taken off the player’s jersey in May 2018, he put on the coach’s suit immediately – initially as a member of the Itas Trentino (which is the last club he played for) coaching staff, and in the summer of 2020, he became the first coach of at Prata.
