The CEV has changed the traditional qualification formula of home and away matches for the next edition of the men’s Champions League.
However, it seems that clubs that are to participate in this preliminary round proposed the modified format, which CEV is willing to accept: instead of six pools of three in the First Round, all teams would be put into a single pool. This would drastically reduce travel, costs, and the number of matches.
We’ll have to wait until this Friday to see if the proposal of the clubs was accepted by the governing body of European volleyball.

‘instead of six pools of three in the First round, all teams would be put into a single pool.’
So, there would be one pool of 18 teams? Here’s something I don’t understand…
